SPIE PRISM AWARDS
STAGE DESIGN
Every year SPIE puts on an amazing awards show for the entire laser and optics industry.
For 3 years Lumenarius had the honor to ideate and fabricate a custom 3D projection mapping stage design for the PRISM Awards.
THE EXPERIENCE
Each year featured a combination of light and structure that elevated the visual presence of the PRISM Awards.
Throughout the event the entire scene was color coordinated with ambient lighting to create the right looks for walk-in, through dinner, and then during the awards.
All the details came together for a night where these rock star physicists, engineers, and entrepreneurs were able to let loose while enjoying a top notch production that reflected their incredible achievements.
“Thank you for another great year. It was a good evening. Loved your work!”

THE SYSTEM
The entire ensemble was a creation involving our favorite combination of set design and projection mapping.
Each year an iterative approach to the stage design was employed to seek out the best designs.
After unanimous buy in on the final arrangement Lumenarius shared the 3D model of the stage design with all the teams to ensure flawless integration with other assets and vendors.
On site it all came together smooth with a literal LEGO-like map for assembly and a pixel perfect hoist of four 20k lumen projectors to illuminate the set.
THE CONTENT
Timing, color coordination, and laser like visuals were all driving themes of the content.
As this was a literal awards show it was essential that the content be on point and fitting. With multiple rounds of review and sign off the content was formed into a blend of eye-popping shimmers when needed but subdued and relaxed during speeches.
For the content on the main screen Lumenarius worked with the amazing and talented team at Keep it Cinematic.
